OT & In Need Of Advice [10 Nov 2009|02:01pm] paramoremusic [nocturna88] Hey everyone, I was hoping some of you may be able to help me out with a big problem I have please? Basically I've been quite ill for coming up to 2 months now. It started off with a really bad chest infection that also mad me quite hoarse, had tests, xrays, anti-biotics and everything and eventually I stopped coughing. Once I stopped coughing I realised I was having a lot of pain in my ears and still couldn't talk. I was told the inside of my ears were inflammed and that the infection was irritating my throat but it was on it's way out. Given more medicine and a flu shot. I even tried going back to work at the end of lst week but s my job involves my voice an awful lot, (I'm a telephone helpline adviser) I was told I wasn't well enough to be in work or do my job properly. I'm still struggling so I went back to the doctors yesterday. I was told my ears were better but to stop taing the meds as they were doing more harm than good. I have also been signed off for 2 weeks, to return to work on Monday 23rd November with a viral illness. I've been told I need complete voice rest for that time as he is concerned I have damaged my voice box, as it has been so weak for such a long time and has referred me to a ears, nose and throat Specialist for investigation. He reckons the coughing during my chest infection and the viral infection may be what's damaged it and is why it's such a struggle to talk. So in a nutshell I'm freaking out. I am disabled and have Cerebral Palsy so I've had a very weak immune system since birth but nothing like this has happened before and it's affected me in a very bad way. My confidence has taken a huge knock, I'm really down and don't see the point in doing anything because I feel so lousy... Anyone have any suggestions or remedies on how I can ease the pain and help my voice improve please? All the Dr. said was to drink hot drinks like honey and lemon but I'm thinking about buying some good earth teas tomorrow, to not eat past 8 when I can and to avoid spicy foods. I'm trying my best to stay as silent as possible but it's really hard not for people to think you're being rude or silly... I'm a sucker for brackets, so contests like this usually interest me, even if I don't want them to. The reason for this post: Paramore (last Nashville venue: The Ryman) have made it to the elite eight by pulling off quite the upset over Green Day (last Nashville venue: Sommet Center) by a margin of over 1,000,000 votes. (!) In other words, Paramore's margin of victory was approximately four times the total number of votes Kings of Leon garnered in their first round loss to Rise Against. And right now they're totally on their way to kicking Linkin Park's ass. In fact, Paramore and "Ignorance" have about four times as many votes right now as all seven other contenders combined. Go Nashville! While P-Mo is certainly turning out the vote, I have to wonder about the average ballot caster here. careful [09 Nov 2009|06:19pm] paramoremusic [victoriarene] [ mood | contemplative ] [ music | careful - paramore (haha) ] careful was one of my favorite songs on brand new eyes at first just because of how good the music is, but since i bought the physical CD i've been listening more to the lyrics. they're so well crafted... i hope i'll write lyrics as great as hayley's someday. like any lyrical poem, careful can be interpreted in many ways, and some of the lines are a little confusing to me. i thought i'd post my own interpretation because i'm really interested to hear what everyone else thinks the song means. enjoy!
